A Splash of Turquoise Blue
This beautiful image captures the moment a kingfisher flies out of the river, droplets of water splashing from his feathers. Pollyanna lives close to the river Derwent and has sat for many hours on the banks observing and sketching kingfishers. While running her wildife sanctuary she cared for two kingfishers, giving her an unpararalled oppoertunity to study and sketch them at close quarters. This painting also features on the cover of the book 'Animated Nature' - an anthology of poems by Born Free Poet in Residence Richard Bonfield
